Our featured project for this season is Alliance One, a class A office building in the renowned NC State Centennial Campus. The property was developed and is managed by Craig Davis Properties. JD Beam was the General Contractor, ColeJenest & Stone were the Landscape Architects, Jenkins Peer was the Architect, and Bland Landscaping Company was the landscape contractor.
The landscape scope consisted of plant installation, irrigation, low voltage lighting, and a street tree planting that included the use of structural soil mixture under the paving to provide the required root zone for the long term success of the street trees. This beautiful property allowed Bland Landscaping the opportunity to showcase our talents for the second time in the last year on the picturesque Centennial Campus of NC State.
Like all successful projects, Alliance One required collaboration between developer, general contractor, landscape architect, and architect. On the front end, we had to collaborate with the owner and the landscape architect to source plant material, that fit within the budget of the owner, while dealing with a challenging plant shortage across the country. Additional collaboration with architect was required while sourcing the tree grates, lighting fixtures, and flower pots for the site. During construction, daily collaboration with the wonderful folks at JD Beam was required, especially while implementing the game plan for the street tree pits and soil placement across the site. This truly was a team effort with all involved.
We would like to thank Craig Davis Properties for allowing Bland Landscaping the opportunity to be a part of another successful project. We are excited about maintaining this site and having a front row seat to watching this property mature and develop over the years to come.
