Strong communities require strong businesses. Today, Bland Landscaping’s coastal teams volunteered at Brunswick County Community College for environmental cleanup.
When Brunswick County faced twenty-two inches of rain last fall, extreme flooding was the result. Our teams cleaned out a wetland/swell area of old, dead, built-up debris that was a major issue during the flooding event. We also removed stumps, small trees, and vegetation that were impeding with the flow of water.
Gregory Poole teamed up with Bland Landscaping by donating two mini excavators to assist with the project. Four culverts were cleared and regraded for optimum water flow.
After these areas were cleaned, we applied seed and straw matting for erosion control. We even hard pruned a wood line off of a roadside for clearance of the easement.
Thank you to David Martin, Cameron Pawolczik, Matt Comer, Luke Rebetsky, Cory Goss, Michael Roseman, Chance Douglas, Scott Young, Francisco Baez-Aranda, Joseph Stanley, Edward Gonzales, Michael Pierce, Damian Whitlow, Jaeden Zuzak, and Ronald S. for believing in the importance of community building through your actions and deeds as a team!
An extra huge thanks to Gabby E. at Gregory Poole Equipment Company for donating the heavy metal for the day!
