Hear from the Team
Curious to know what it’s like working for Bland Landscaping? Learn more about who we are and get to know our company culture—directly from our team members.
For us, company culture and values aren’t negotiable. Our mission statement is the same as it was 25 years ago. Our core values remain honesty, integrity, progressiveness, professionalism and excellence. No matter how big we get, I don’t see those ever changing.
Kurt and I grew up in this industry, and the people we meet are a lot like our family. We like to show a good path for employees, and we’ve got the resources and teams together to continue organic growth.
We want to take care of our people so they can take care of our customers. Bland has been leading in the ‘taking-care-of-people category since Tom started the organization over 49 years ago. That is way more common here than anywhere else I’ve been affiliated.
It’s great to be able to partner with a responsible landscape company, and pair that with our excellent lake management service at Foster Lake & Pond Management. We look at the whole lake and everything that ties to it, and we offer services that other landscape and lake management companies don’t offer.
So grateful to be part of such a wonderful company surrounded by awesome coworkers who encourage and help with personal and career growth! The things I appreciate most about this job are the co-workers and the flexibility to work at the desk or in the field. It’s just a great environment to be in.
“I started at Bland a little over 20 years ago. Bland was always active in activities and clubs at NC State, and has always had a really good reputation in this industry. Something I enjoy about my job and working for Bland is the wide variety of projects I get to be involved in. And I really appreciate the work-life balance Bland provides.”
“At Foster Lake & Pond Management, I have learned, grown, challenged myself, networked, and become coworkers with so many awesome people. In the past year, I have honed and developed my skills as a stormwater technician, gained a more well rounded understanding of stormwater treatment techniques, and attended two prestigious summits. I have gained valuable knowledge and made so many personal connections through Foster Lake.”
“One of the things I love about my career as fisheries biologist with Foster Lake & Pond Management is the opportunity to travel to all sides of our beautiful state, and witness lake and pond management from all regions. Wherever there’s water, our presence is needed!”
