Snow & Ice Removal in Charlotte

Our Charlotte teams came prepared—and well-timed—for the snow removal efforts in our service areas. Here’s how we do that: We hold many planning meetings, and follow up by practicing non-stop, internal communication with our teams to make sure the timing is right and keep things moving efficiently. (Wondering what happens if you don’t time it right? You will be scraping ice and miss your plow window. Good planning can make all the difference.)

This was one heck of a storm—hitting 11-13″ of precipitation in Charlotte. But Bland Landscaping Company comes prepared! From BLC president, Kurt Bland:

We have a couple hundred plow trucks, two commercial brine makers with high capacity storage, a fleet of skid mounted brine application rigs, belly feed salt spreaders, and a bunch of support infrastructure resources—including salt bins that store a couple hundred tons around NC. Before this storm, we secured 360 tons of salt and numerous 18-wheelers of ice melt.

We have a lot of seasonal iron on the roads, but our best resource of them all is the great team of operators, drivers, shovelers, and leadership. They can move mountains with their commitment to excellence, and they function very well as a team.
