June is National Safety Month, but safety is something we take seriously every day. It’s more than something we say—it’s something we invest in and put into action.
This month is an opportunity to reflect on our habits, sharpen our skills, and continue contributing to a culture where every team member is equipped with the skills they need to provide a safe working environment for themselves and others around them.
BLC President, Kurt Bland, shares his thoughts on our approach to safety:
I can’t express how important it is. When you’re running a business and you’ve got production goals and labor budgets, it’s easy to focus on those things and not take the time to really preach safety and make sure the messages are understood. We do our tailgate topics on an ongoing basis, we do quarterly topics, we do online virtual training. But when it comes to bringing everybody together and teaching them in a hands-on manner, we make sure to highlight that it’s not about how to do the work more efficiently, but how to do it more safely.
It’s an important investment—something that is unique to Bland Landscaping Co.
