We were thrilled to be at the University of Mount Olive Agricultural Center for the 2026 North Carolina High School Landscape Competition (NCHSLC).
This event highlights the incredible talent and technical skills of horticulture students from across the state. From precision skid steer operation to the intricate work of irrigation assembly and paver installation, these students proved they are the best and brightest our industry has to offer.
While many of these talented competitors are also gearing up for the National NCLC event next month, today was all about celebrating their achievements right here in North Carolina. We loved seeing their passion in action and enjoyed a great lunch while catching up with the next generation of professionals.
Congratulations to all the participants on a fantastic competition!
Jason Boyd, Bland Landscaping Recruiting Manager, had this to say about the event:
Seeing the best and brightest students from across the state go head-to-head reminded me exactly why I love being in this industry.
These students crushed it, showing off some serious technical skills in everything from heavy equipment operation to complex installations.
A huge shout-out to Jason Davis and the University of Mount Olive for all of the hard work putting this together, and to Tim Johnson and his team for their grilling skills and helping us get everyone fed!
I also owe a massive thank you to my team from Charlotte and the Triangle for the help on the ground this weekend, from coordinating lunch to competition judging; it could not have been done without you.
Congrats to all the competitors! If today was any indication, North Carolina is going to bring the heat at the National NCLC next month. The future of the green industry is looking bright!
