Volunteerism: Lucy Daniels Center

We were honored to be able to assist the Lucy Daniels Center finish their therapeutic garden this spring.  The school located off Weston Parkway in Cary teaches children with emotional and social challenges.  The garden is fenced in to keep the deer at bay and has a green- house inside it as well.  Our employees volunteered their time filling in the raised planters with soil, created two planting rows, and created walking paths through the garden.   Fruit trees will be planted later this season.  We look forward to continuing our relationship with Lucy Daniels and assisting them with hands on teaching regarding planting vegetables.  All of us are connected to nature and this is one small way to maintain this connection and positively improve one’s sense of well-being.  If you would like more information regarding therapeutic gardening please let us know.
