Today was truly an eye opening experience for our Apex team.
Our Apex branch shut down operations for a day of giving as we partnered up with Clean Jordan Lake and US Army Corps of Engineers to help with litter and trash removal. We worked along just a small stretch of the 100+ miles of shoreline that Lake Jordan has to offer.
Our team was surprised to find such a huge amount of trash on just 400 yards of shoreline: We were able to pick up and remove over 50 tires and well over 100 bags of trash. The video clip below shows one of three trips the boat made this morning, with more trips scheduled to come pick up another pile made further down the bank.
Don’t be a litterbug! Please dispose trash and recycling through the appropriate channels. The health of wildlife and plant life in Jordan Lake depends on it.
