We began the landscape management of a large lifestyle community in the Chapel Hill area in the first week of May this year. Regrettably, an abundance of Poa Annua (also called annual bluegrass or meadow grass) now dots what was once a pristine main entrance into the community.
So, what’s next?
- Educate the customer on the “what” and the “why.” We set realistic expectations on turf quality and performance during growing season. Today, we shot some video to distribute to community members.
- Develop a plan. Our ongoing efforts involve furnishing the community with a pre-established plan and recommendations to tackle the Poa predicament, which is already in motion.
- Execute and maintain. We’ll diligently work this fall to ensure continuous progress towards restoring the former beauty of this turf.
