Looks can be deceiving: Just because the rip-rap is still in place doesn’t mean the system is functioning properly! An inlet might appear perfectly fine at first glance, but underneath? Sediment, dirt and sand can completely choke out a dissipator pad’s ability to slow and filter water flow.
